《Sound Installations without Loudspeakers》 will consider soundinstallations as an artform from the perspective of philosophical aesthetics and look at examples from many artists to understand the material implications. the course aims to broaden the students understanding of what constitutes an installation and expand their knowledge about creating soundart without the use of loudspeakers.
practical explorations and the task to develop their own project ideas will enforce this learning.

"Sound Installation Design Without Loudspeakers" is a course co-offered in 2026 by Chao-Ming Tung, a professor from  the Institute of Music, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, who invited hans w. koch, a full professor and Provost at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne in Germany.By utilizing digital, analog, and AI technologies, the course aims to strip away the conventional traits of techno-art, restoring an understanding and perception of natural objects. It seeks to reconstruct students' comprehension of the core elements of sound installations, while expanding their knowledge of creating sound art without the use of loudspeakers.
