[Congratulations] Professor Yu-Chung Tseng Wins International Award for Electroacoustic Composition 🎉
Professor Yu-Chung Tseng from our institute continues to receive high international acclaim for his electroacoustic compositions! Following the selection of his works for ICMC 2026 (Germany), NYCEMF 2026 (USA), and the Linz Sonic Festival (Austria) this past May and June, he has recently achieved another outstanding success at the LANDSCAPE International Call for Scores in Italy.
In this call for scores, Professor Tseng was recognized alongside internationally renowned composers such as João Pedro Oliveira (UCSB) and Panayiotis Kokoras (UNT), with his piece being named one of the "Top 10 Selected Works" out of nearly 100 global submissions.
His selected work, Metascape of Bamboo, draws special inspiration from the soundscape of the bamboo forests by Emei Lake in his hometown of Hsinchu. The piece profoundly resonates with this year’s theme: "Exploring the collision of sound, territory, and contemporary language." Earning the jury's favor for its exceptional electroacoustic artistry, the composition ultimately stood out among the selected works to be awarded 2nd Prize, bringing further honor to our institute and Taiwan's electroacoustic arts community.
