Taiwan born pianist Karen Lin Peng studied at The Boston Conservatory under tutelage of Jung-Ja Kim. She then received a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the Mannes College of Music under professor Arkady Aronov. After returning to Boston, Peng became a pupil of legendary pianist Anthony di Bonaventura. In the summer, she went to Sion Music Festival studying under professor Peter Feuchtwanger, and participated in the Salzburg Mozarteum, Denmark, and the Alfred Cortot Festival in France.
Peng has taught at the Boston Conservatory's extension division and the collaborative program of Roger Williams College and The Music School in Rhode Island. She has adjudicated the New Jersey Music Teachers Association Young Musicians Competition and the Carnegie Hall Auditorium. Peng has given lectures and masterclasses at her alma mater, National Taiwan Normal University Affiliated Senior High School, Chiao Tung University, Tainan University, and Emory University Department of Music. Peng is the founder and artistic director of the Peng Piano Academy music festival in the San Francisco Bay Area, a summer piano intensive for highly gifted young pianists.
