Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Music (Computer Music)
The Institute of Music of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Hsinchu, Taiwan) seeks candidates for one full-time position in computer music at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. Specifically, applicants should specialize in composition of modern music, electroacoustic music, and technological interactive music. Responsibilities include teaching studio lessons and offering courses at graduate level.

Applicants must fulfill one of the two conditions below:
1. A doctorate in composition/electroacoustic music, computer music, or music technology. This degree should be among those that Taiwan’s Ministry of Education acknowledges. See Principles for recognition of overseas degrees or diplomas《境外學位或文憑認定原則》
2. Academic certificate of assistant professor or above issued by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
Please submit at least 4 course syllabi; two in Category A and the other two, in Category B (see below).
Category A:
(1) Composition of Computer music (studio lesson for composition majors), (2) Computer music techniques: audio processing and composition (DAW-based/fixed media/acousmatic), (3) Computer music techniques: technology and interaction (Max/MSP-based, Mixed work), (4) Analysis of electronic music works, (5) Research topics on cross-domain creation of computer music.
Category B:
(1) Topics on sound art
(2) Topics on multi-channel music space design
(3) Topics on artificial intelligence music
(4) Topics on EEG Brainwave healing music
(5) Other related topics on music technology
Application documents: Please include 3 copies, which will not be returned to the applicants:

2. Resume/CV.
3. Teacher’s certificate(if applicable).
4. Diplomas & transcripts (undergraduate & graduate degrees). NB: If an applicant. received his/her terminal degree overseas, this diploma must be certified by the embassy based in the city/region/country of the academic institution that grants the degree.
5. Thesis/dissertation of the terminal degree. Please include an abstract.
6. Course plans/syllabi. Please include course goals, grading percentages, weekly schedule, reference sources/bibliography.
7. Three representative works in computer music or works in related areas, for example, a work in sound art(tape music/acousmatic music), mixed work (a work that combines musical instruments and electronic music), live electronic music, or artificial intelligence music. Please include hard copies of music score, compositional charts, or computer music programs. Please also include audio and visual materials in cloud links or a USB.
8. Hard copies of works in addition to those under #7(see above). Please also include audio and visual materials in cloud links or a USB.
9. A list of the applicant’s works. Please include the year of composition, the instrumentation, the works’ duration, and other relevant information re: the performance.
10. Research plans.
11. Other relevant documents such as awards or, concert programs/brochures.
