Musical interpretation is not merely the performer’s presentation of a composer’s work; it is also a fusion of creativity and artistry. In the process of interpretation, each performer brings forth different layers and artistic realms of music through their own understanding and technique. Interpretation is not only the reproduction of notes, but also a deeper exploration of musical meaning and emotional expression.
Fundamentally, musical interpretation is a dynamic creative process. It is not simply the realization of a score, but the performer’s interpretation and understanding of the music. Within this process, there is a subtle balance between the composer’s original intention and the performer’s individual style.
The practice of musical interpretation is not only a technical challenge, but also a profound exploration of artistic understanding. Approaching the topic from the perspective of a conductor, the speaker will serve as a bridge for exchange across different fields, with the aim of deepening musical understanding and further promoting interdisciplinary dialogue.
