The idea of this piece derives from the blossoming and the fragrance of lilies. The process of lilies growing from buds to blossoms is depicted through subtle changes of sounds; the spreading and dispersing of floral fragrance is presented through various playing techniques of harmonics. The whole piece can be viewed as images captured by time-lapse photography. At every seemingly unchanging moment, there are imperceptible yet constantly changing details. By means of plain and unpretentious musical textures as well as different spectral combinations, this piece is an attempt to depict the gradually blossoming process of lilies as well as the charming atmosphere of fragrance quietly giving off at dusk.
